Calgary, AB: With the Calgary Stampede starting tomorrow, it’s hard to believe the arena was under water just over ten days ago. I’m interested to see what things look like come rodeo time.
I went to pick up my pass today at the BMO Center on Stampede Park and found it pretty wild that the drywall was cut off up to about two and a half feet in places due to the flood. Things were clean otherwise but that seemed odd with the amount of people there doing the same thing as me. I didn’t see it as anything negative. I saw it as Mayor Nenshi said “We will make it work”
From what I’ve heard, the dressing rooms underneath the grandstand have been totally gutted. I’m not sure what those new Priefert Chutes will look like either but my guess is spotless.
As of today, I’ve got some new work to do that I’m excited to announce later in the week at this year’s Stampede.
This year’s Calgary Stampede is going to be a different one but a monumental one in the sense that it’s being pulled off despite demanding circumstances that would likely cripple any other event of it’s size.
The day one draw is now posted on the Calgary Stampede website as well. Check it out.

See you all down there this week or follow along right here,
