VERNON, British Columbia — There have only been two years of bull riding at the Coyote Creek Ranch so far sanctioned with Bull Riders Canada Inc. In those two years, there’s only been one winner. Both times thus far that guy has been a BC Cowboy too, his name is Cody Moore and he’s likely already punched his ticket back to his second BRC Finals.

To this point, no one had made a qualified ride in the Short Go of a BRC event this season, that was until yesterday.

An 85.5 point score on Guitars and Cadillacs from the JRB Cattle Company paid Moore very well, $4,750 to be exact for that lone score. His points from both rounds catapulted him up to first place in the 2014 Standings.

In the long go, Moore rode Beast Mode from the Coyote Creek Rodeo Co for an 84.5 and another $1,240 in earnings. With that, he made out of the A&W Vernon Bull-A-Rama with just shy of $6,000 in cash prize money.

Second place on the day went to last year’s BRC Champ, Brian Hervey with his long go winning 85 on Wilfred’s Way from Jimmy Bonneau’s JRB Cattle Company. That added $1,653 to Hervey’s season total landing him in 11th place thus far on his treck back to the title.

Wade Marchand of the Coyote Creek Cattle company assembled the outstanding pen of bulls for the event.

“We’d like to thank my Dad, Ted, for hosting such a great event once again,” said Wade speaking of the event being held in his own back yard. “We had a great pen of bulls from Jimmy Bonneau of JRB Bucking Bulls, Shawn Perry with S&E Bucking Bulls and filled the pen with our own as well.” This year’s event has surpassed the tremendous success of last year’s first BRC sanctioned event.

“The short round was awesome and so was the bounty bull. The ring of fear was just as good as last year too,” Wade said, already looking forward to 2015.

Speaking of that Ring of Fear, here’s a look at it once again.

Thanks to Trisha Clifton for filming yesterday along with Wade Marchand for uploading the videos.
